Milestones in a child’s life call attention to important transformations. When we, as a church family, pause our regular routines to acknowledge key milestones in a child’s life, we’re sending a powerful message to and about them, about their identity in Christ.
Birth
Congratulations and welcome to your newest blessing! Your family will receive a baby blanket, a gift card for a meal, and a card showing all the milestones we will celebrate with your family.

Baptism
Upon your child’s baptism, you will receive their baptismal certificate, along with a cross for your child.

Welcome to Sunday School
As your child transitions from the nursery to the Pre-Kindergarten Sunday school class, they will receive a Beginner’s Bible.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Beginning Kindergarten
Welcome to Kindergarten! Your child will receive a child’s prayer cube. These simple prayers can be a foundation for your child as they grow in their relationship with God.

3rd Grade Bible
We celebrate the tradition of presenting Bibles to our third grade students as a gift from the congregation. It is our prayer that this gift will be a starting point for a deeper relationship with God through Christ, enhanced through the study of God’s word. We will recognize your child in worship as they receive their Bible and they are invited to participate in Pizza with the Pastors to learn more about their Bible.

Welcome to Youth Group
Middle school can be a confusing time! Our youth group is here to provide you and your child with support! We will welcome them to the group with an ice cream social just for 6th graders, an Atascocita Methodist Youth t-shirt, and a Life Application Bible.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.

Confirmation
Confirmation is a time of intentional preparation, giving your child the opportunity to reflect on the basic tenants of our faith and gives them a safe environment to ask questions and grapple with the divine truths and mysteries proclaimed by the church of Jesus Christ. Confirmation is a special part of worship each Spring. Each confirmand is celebrated at a banquet and receives a gift.

Welcome to Senior High
The youth group continues to support your child as they navigate high school. We also recognize our senior high students as leaders in the church and empower them to be role models for others in the church. Your child will be welcomed to senior high with a leadership dinner and will receive a gift signifying their new role as a leader.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Graduation
As a congregation, we are excited to honor your achievement and celebrate your child’s high school graduation. Your child will be recognized in worship, be honored at a luncheon for the graduates, and receive a clinging cross as a reminder that God is always with them.
But you are to cling to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day.
