Family Promise

Family Promise of Lake Houston (FPLH) is a faith based non-profit organization of local congregations with the goal of assisting homeless families that need help getting back on their feet and living independently.

Every three months, up to three families from our area stay here at Atascocita Methodist each evening for a week. During this time we have a chance to display our extravagant hospitality while reaching out to the community to help families in need.

Usually we will need 65-75 volunteers throughout the course of our hosting week to help with the work load. If you can help set up, greet, make dinner, hang out, visit with the families in the evening, or spend the night we need your help. There are links to further details about the requirements for each of our volunteer positions in the right column of this page. Thank you for finding a way to serve those in need.

I have learned that everyone is my neighbor. Hurricane Harvey reminded us how anyone can wind up in that situation (homeless). If no one is there to offer the love of Jesus, then how can they get through it? Through Family Promise, we are truly changing lives for the better.
