Sunday Opportunities

Confirmation

Confirmation class is for 7th graders or older who have not been confirmed in the church. This class teaches the history of the United Methodist Church, what Methodists believe, what it means to be a Christian, and how to live a Christ-filled life. The class ends on Confirmation Sunday when the youth commit their life to Christ.

Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF)

Sundays 5 - 7 p.m.

This is a time for food, fun, and spiritual fellowship for all 6th – 12th graders. We spend the evening enjoying a meal together and playing fun and lesson-learning games as we continue to learn how Jesus wants us to live our lives.

Midweek Small Groups

Wednesdays 6 - 7:15 p.m.

Every Wednesday night we offer small groups for our youth. These groups are divided by gender and offer a time for personal reflection and discussion.

Scouting BSA

Atascocita Methodist has three scouting groups: Cub Scout Pack 56, Scouting BSA Troop 56, and Scouting BSA Troop 57. Scouting is a home and neighborhood centered program designed to support the values you teach at home. Scouts learn respect for God, country and other people, as well as other positive skills.

Missions

30 Hour Famine

30 Hour Famine is an intense fasting and spiritual weekend for youth (7th – 12th graders) to raise awareness and funds for starving people, the homeless, & the sick in the world and our own community.

Big House

BIG HOUSE (Believing In God and Helping Others Understand through Service Everywhere) is for Jr. High Youth (who have completed the 6th – 8th grades) to take part in a week of service and spiritual growth. Youth groups attend BIG HOUSE in the summer for a 4-day work camp. Youth and adults will work to repair and repaint churches and homes while “Loving God and Serving All.”

U.M. Army

U.M. Army (United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth) is for Sr. High Youth (who have completed the 9th – 12th grades) to take part in a week of service and spiritual growth. Youth groups attend U.M. Army in the summer for a 6-day work camp. This is an opportunity for youth and adults to provide home repairs and maintenance needs for those unable to help themselves, in the name of Christian faith and love.
